One of the most challenging parts of becoming an adult is finding a job. The world of employment can be tough for anyone, but there are often even more barriers for people with disabilities. Therefore, it is important for youth to have the necessary skills to be an excellent employee.
THE BREAD AND BUTTER OF THIS SECTION:
Employment can be difficult for anyone, however there are additional barriers facing young adults with disabilities. This section provides information on barriers in the workplace, preventing bullying and harassment, finding a job, and keeping a job. It includes information on applying for a job, interview skills, and disability disclosure tips. There are additional activities for resume development. This section of the toolkit can be used as an individual workshop or with the other sections of the toolkit.
