After leaving high school, students must make the decision of whether to get a job or pursue higher education. Further one’s education can expand a person’s opportunities to find different jobs and earn more money. Although receiving a degree or certificate can increase opportunities, it is not the right choice for everyone. Higher education is often expensive and does not have the same services available to students.
THE BREAD AND BUTTER OF THIS SECTION:
Employment in a difficult for anyone, but there are additional barriers in teh workplace, preventing bullying and harassment, finding a job, and keeping a job. It includes information on applying for a job, interview skills, and disability disclosure tips. There are additional activities for resume development. This section of the toolkit can be used as an individual workshop or with the other sections in the toolkit.
